The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has released new guidance allowing health plans to report only total premium paid for D1 Premium data, omitting the employee/employer contribution breakdown for fully-insured groups when not available or invalid. Blue Shield of California will follow this guidance in its D1 submissions, while continuing to support groups and group plan sponsors in complying with health coverage-related regulatory requirements.
