Covered California for Small Business (CCSB) has big updates this July. Notably, the Partnership that Pays Bonus Program has been relaunched, offering up to $12,000 for new group enrollments between July 1, 2023 and January 1, 2024.

In addition, CCSB has introduced six new Blue Shield plans as of July 1, 2023, enhancing their coverage options. These include Bronze Trio HMO 7000/70 + Child Dental, Bronze Full PPO Savings 7000 + Child Dental, Silver Full PPO Savings 2300/25% + Child Dental, Access+ Silver 70 HMO 2500/55 + Child Dental, Access+ Gold 80 HMO 250/35 + Child Dental, and Access+ Platinum 90 HMO 0/20 + Child Dental. All these plans will be available upon renewal.

As tax deadlines loom, CCSB reminds eligible small businesses of an exclusive tax credit. Businesses with fewer than 25 full-time equivalent employees, an average wage of less than $58,000 a year, and who pay at least half of their employees' health insurance premiums could qualify for federal tax credits of up to 50% on premiums. This credit helps offset the cost of providing health insurance and can be applied on Federal Tax Return. This tax benefit is available exclusively through CCSB.
