NEW Underwriting Update: Household Employers
An employer group that employs household workers to care for the employer’s home and property may be eligible for coverage if it meets all of the following criteria:
- Complies with the federal and state definitions of a small employer
- Must have an Employer Identification Number
- Maintains a Workers’ Compensation policy for all employees
- Files a DE-9C on a quarterly basis. Note: a household employer that files a DE-3HW in lieu of a DE-9C will not be eligible for coverage.
- Property owners requesting to enroll along with their employees must submit Proof of Eligibility Statement for Household Employers, attesting to the fact that they meet the definition of an eligible employee.
- All standard paperwork requirements and underwriting guidelines apply.
