Blue Shield's Trio HMO Network Grows in Los Angeles County

Effective January 1, 2021, PIH Health medical group will join the growing network of ACO providers. This is effective for all lines of business that offer Trio HMO.

PIH Health is a nonprofit, regional healthcare network. The fully integrated network is comprised of PIH Health's medical group and two hospitals - Whittier and Downey.

• With the addition of PIH Health to the Trio network, Blue Shield is collectively increasing access to care in a populated area of Los Angeles. Trio now covers 83% of HMO Access+.
• Blue Shield is increasing the Trio network in the following cities: Whittier, Hacienda Heights, La Mirada, Santa Fe Springs, Downey and Bellflower.
• Network coverage in this area of Los Angeles County will include PIH Health, AppleCare and Allied Pacific.
